I know on a holiday there are free buffets for military people (it's late and knowing the correct terminology is not top priority). Also Applebees gives free entrees. I might have this holiday mixed up with Veterans' Day, but it's easy to confuse the two for a mom of 4.

More events for the first week of May & free sites on the Strip

I'm glad those who read my posts will comment and add to the information and events. One reader mentioned that this week is the Science and Technology Festival. It is a fun event to go to and is free. My son was part of his school's Rubix Cube club and got to compete at the Expo last year. His school was 3rd place in their division. Here is the link  my friend shared so you can see all the events going on, as there are many
The Science And Technology Expo is a big event on Saturday May 7th and it's from 10 AM-5 PM at Cashman Center. Here is the Facebook event page

Here is the Mermaid shows times While looking for the aquarium info I did find that every Wednesday at their Sway Pool they host Wine Down Wednesdays where you get free entry and 2 free tastings of wine from 6 PM-8 PM. Sam's Town off the strip has it's Mystic Falls with nightly laser light shows and their shows start at 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM, 8 PM, and last show at 10 PM.

We can't forget the Fremont Experience where there is a canopy with light displays and different stages along the street with free concerts. This link seems to have good information, since the street has many different casinos along it and it is a street it does not have it's own website, but I believe there is a Facebook page.

There is Ethel M's cactus gardens that are free to tour and the chocolate factory

There is M&M World and Coke World next to MGM Grand

There is also Hershey's Chocolate World in the New York New York Hotel and Casino

April showers bring May flowers May 1st-May 7th

There are some events coming up this first week of May. The last week of April brought rain, which is good for a desert. I have found a few events that are going on this coming week. Also this week is teacher appreciation week, so if you know a teacher show them some appreciation. I think they should be appreciated all year long, but that's because I am friends with so many and they have my kids for most of the day.

Sunday May 1st is also known as May Day, celebrate it as you may with your family or friends, or family and friends. I just heard on the news that May 1st is the local hotel and casino Stratosphere's 20th anniversary and locals can ride the elevator to the observation deck for free and then there's $20 2 person buffet and $20 all access ride pass. Sundays Firehouse Subs has kids' sandwiches for $0.99 when you purchase an adult meal and for dining in.

Monday May 2nd I am not aware of any events this day however Mondays I believe are kids eat free at a restaurant.

Tuesday May 3rd is Funset Kid's Club at the Galleria Mall's food court at 10:30 AM
Chevy's Mexican Restaurant has kids eat free.

Wednesday is May 4th also known as "May the Fourth be with you" day.
